We were pleased recently to welcome two new members of the Parish ministry team - Rev’d Mary Stallard, Chaplain to St Joseph’s School And Schools’ Development Officer, St Giles’ Centre for Religious Education and Amanda Berry as Parish Nurse.
Amanda Berry says “The Parish Nursing movement is founded upon a view of healthcare that derives from the life and ministry of Jesus Christ, and the belief that spiritual care cannot be separated from physical, emotional, and social care. As Parish Nurse I will be based at St Giles and will be working alongside the ministry team across the Benefice. My role will include promoting health in the congregation and local community, offering personal health advice, and undertaking health education programmes. As a health advocate I could possibly accompany people to stressful GP or hospital appointments if they so wish, and I hope to assist volunteers in church. I'm able to visit people at home or in hospital if needs be.
