It was good to welcome Bishop Gregory to St Giles for his Visitation.
The Bishop presided at an all-age Eucharist service, at which some of the young people performed a sketch, and several of the clergy took the roles of Jesus and Peter and 'The Management'. The band and choir from St Joseph's School joined with choir members from round the parish to support the singing.
Following the service, members of the Parish enjoyed a hog roast and a chance to share fellowship together and with the Bishop.
In the afternoon, the Bishop conducted the formal part of his visit, offering words of encouragement and advice to the ministers and wardens and answering questions, to help us shape our vision for the coming years.
Grateful thanks to the many people who helped make the day run smoothly and be a successful and uplifting occasion.
