If you missed Mothers' Day at St. Margaret's you missed a treat! The Sunday Club children told us about famous mums in the Bible and touched us with their words and pictures about why they love their own mums. All the children in church, (and you're still a child at ** years of age, aren't you, Steve?) presented daffodils to their mums in church. In fact, all the ladies received flowers. Don't we all play the "Mum" role at some time? The children in Sunday Club had stayed behind in the weeks preceding Mothers' day to make simnel cakes with Chris Smith and her team. So each child was able to present their mum with a cake as well as flowers. The photos below offer a reminder for those present and a little taster for those unable to be with us that day. P.S. Please send any complaints about this article to Richard. He's foolishly let me loose with the "Events" pages of St Marg's site! ![]() Above: Two Simnel Cakes and a bunch of flowers. Below: Chris Smith (Sunday Club Leader) enjoys a welcome cuppa after all her hard work - prepared and served, as befits Mothers' day, by two gallant gentlemen of the church!
