Richard

Rev'd Richard Hainsworth is Team Vicar in the Parish with responsibility for St Margaret's.

Richard was born near Hull, moving to Wales (near Pennant Melangell) at the age of 12.

He was educated at Llanfyllin High School, Jesus College Cambridge and St Michael's College Llandaff.  He might, one day, finish a PhD on the work of American Eco-feminist Sallie McFague.

Following university he worked as a carer for adults with learning difficulties and as a pastoral assistant and then Lay Chaplain to St Asaph Cathedral.

He was ordained in 2006 and served his Curacy in the Newtown group of Parishes, then becoming firstly Curate (2008) and then Vicar (2009) of St Margaret's Wrexham.

He is married to Laura, and is putting off having kids for as long as possible - thinking that 2 dogs and a tortoise are quite enough trouble.

His hobbies include photography and computing and a poor taste in reality television.  He also has a strange fascination with fantasy baseball - he is Commissioner of a Fantasy Baseball Mafia League and thinks that a book containing 600 pages of baseball statistics is a good read.

He likes to think he is far too young and good looking to be a proper vicar, but in light of the above, probably isn't.....
