Who can be a Godparent?
It is most important that you feel happy choosing those people who will be most support, rather than worrying about rules or traditions.  For guidance, traditionally a girl has 2 Godmothers and 1 Godfather and a boy has 2 Godfathers and 1 Godmother, but you do not have to stick to this.  Generally Godparents should be over 18 and the Church in Wales asks you to choose baptised Christians who can help you with the Christian parts of the baptism promises.
Those who are older when baptised normally have ‘sponsors’ rather than Godparents, but they are very similar in their role.
